Habitat posters are due next Wednesday, 3/13/13
Use the diagram on page 10 of your text as a guide to how to set up your poster. You can replace the prairie dog with your animal and its population and community.
Be sure to label your diagrams neatly!
We will be using the posters for an activity related to the food chains and food webs.
Please keep your posters to the size that I demonstrated in class, smaller is better, bigger will be hard to use for the activity.
I'm looking forward to seeing what our community of animals will look like!!
Mrs. Collins I could not find anything on the firefly. I was wondering if it would be ok to do the northern flying squirrel.

Emily,
DeleteIf the northern flying squirrel is native to NH, then you may do it. I have seen them on hikes in the White Mountains so I'm pretty sure they are native, though rare.
good luck,
Mrs C

Mrs. Collins is it ok if i have a 30" by 20" poster board?
ReplyDeleteThat would be okay to use.
Deleteok thanks!
ReplyDeleteI researched to see if deep-sea anglers were native to nh but all I found was that they're found world wide can I still do them?
ReplyDeleteAnna, you may want to check and see if deep-sea anglers come in close enough to shore for NH fishermen and women to catch.
DeleteBut the only thing is that I don't think they catch them but I stiill think they live near nth but not so close to shore because they swim in deep water
ReplyDeleteAnna, you should try a fish that lives in the NH lakes or streams, that way it will be a part of our food chains and food web when we use the posters for that activity.
DeleteNot many NH animals will be eating deep-sea anglers or be eaten by them.
We will do some aquatic and ocean habitats later, so save any information that you found on this fish.
Let me know what your new fish or animal will be.
Good luck,
Mrs C
I think I'm going to do a snowy owl and I know they're native because I've seen one in the summer on my porch (weird).
ReplyDeleteThe snow owl is native and so is the horned owl which makes an interesting sound in the middle of the night near our house in the summer.
DeleteGood luck, I look forward to seeing your poster,
Mrs C
